This mapping includes contract for the Baie des Golfes de Lérins.
The study area extends from the tip of the Notre Dame in the town of Théoule-sur-Mer to Cap up to Antibes (Ilette tip included) on the bathymetry up to the surface of the contour from 60 meters.

This mapping includes a complementary study to the Contract Baie des Golfes de Lérins, entitled " Etude de l'écologie marine" (Study of Marine Ecology) and addresses the need for an homogeneous and up to date inventory of the marine biocenosis.
The client for this study is the committee of the Baie des Golfes de Lérins and for supervisor of the eye of Andromeda - Andromède Océanologie, with the primary financial participation of the Conseil Général des Alpes Maritimes (General Council of the Alpes Maritimes), the l'Agence de l'Eau RM&C (Agency Water RM & C) and the PACA region.

- The interpretation of the BD-ORTHO of the IGN 1999 and 2004,
- Two acquisition campaigns at sea between November 2007 and March 2008: Sounder / sonar interferometry survey (multibeam and acquisition sonar) and field verification campaign by transect audio diver and periodic dives.
Mapping of Caulerpa also required the use of data from LEML - UNSA (2007) available at www.crige-paca.org.
The reference used for the coastline is the IGN BD-Ortho.
The nomenclature used is based on a simplified version of that defined in the "Interpretation Manual of marine habitat types for the selection of sites to be included in national inventories of natural sites of interest for conservation. Pergent G., Bellan-Santini D., G. Bellan, G. Bitar, Harmelin JG eds., RAC / SPA publ., Tunis: 199pp. ". Class "Herbarium Posidonia oceanica", however, was divided into two subclasses: "herbarium on rock" and "Herbarium on mats."
