Statement

The individual biological parameters concerned are length, total weight, sex, stage of sexual maturity, age of marine organisms (fish and molluscs) and stomach contents.

For each individual, at least two of its biological parameters are necessarily collected.

The collection of these data on a sample allows the reconstruction of life history traits (size/age relationship, sexual maturity ogive, size/weight relationship, size and age of first sexual maturity, reproduction period) at the scale of the total population.

• Sampling plan(s) :

The planning and monitoring of the implementation of the NWP (National Work Plan) is carried out using an online platform (project Integration and Management tools for bioloGical INdicEs (Imagine)).

The management and processing of all the data collected are carried out using a database (Imagine project) which is itself integrated into the Harmonie database.

• Precision on the type of data :

Characteristics of the sampling context: place, fishing area, vessel, trade, date.

Characteristics of the individual observed: species, length, weight, sex, age, etc.

• Parameter(s) observed or measured :

- Location

- Fishing area

- Vessel

- Trade

- Date

- Species

- Length of fish

- Weight

- Sex

- Age,...

Measurements of individuals by species are made according to the recommendations of the ICES working groups managed by the WGBIOP (Working Group on Biological Parameters).

• Resolution of the parameter(s) :

Data are banked by species, location, date.

• Format(s):

Data are being banked in the HIS database.

Data are not yet available.
