- There are two criteria under which we have selected the types of British fishing gears that are presented in the Atlas. The gear type must : (1) be used in the eastern English Channel and southern North Sea and (2) target at least one of the species studied in the Atlas.
- Description
- The frequency is given in numbers of fishing trips (when the vessel is absent from its port) for the years 2005 (UK) and 2006 (France), and by ICES statistical division. Data come from European logbooks (and also from national logbooks on the French side) and concern vessels of all lengths for the French fleet and vessels over 10 m in length for the British fleet.
